This lesson plan unit has two reading texts about Terry Fox and how he has inspired Canadians. Part 1 includes a numbered seven-paragraph text (level 6.2), a vocabulary list, a Fast Facts section, and an exercise for putting facts as they appeared in the text in correct order. Part 2 includes a seven-paragraph text (level 6.3), vocabulary list and a writing exercise that uses the vocabulary words introduced in Parts 1 and 2. Also included is a group activity that prompts students to discuss and record what they learned about Terry Fox. Teachers’ answer sheets are included.
