Level 2 – This Lesson Plan Unit begins with a numbered 6-paragraph 336-word text that discusses the origins of the FIFA World Cup™ with a short reference the game as it is played today. Included are: a list of 13 vocabulary words (which are underlined in the text), a short list of “Fast Facts”, and a 2-page worksheet with three exercises. The second feature of the unit is a set of two Internet research assignments, one of which is about other sports’ championships and one which requires students to find specific information about five sports.
