Level 3 – This Lesson Plan Unit begins with a 6-paragraph 436-word text that discusses the origins of basketball with a short reference the game as it is played today. Included are: a list of 14 vocabulary words, a short list of “Fast Facts”, and a worksheet with two exercises. A second feature of the unit is a Listening Exercise which includes a Teacher’s Guide, two copies of the 223-word Listening Exercise Text (one copy has the sentences numbered), and three charts that relate to the Listening Exercise. The Listening Exercise also includes a sheet of 6 Multiple Choice questions that may be done as a supplemental activity or as a quiz.
